There are 3 types of audiences namely; cold audience, warm audience, and hot audience. Cold audience is the market segment that knows nothing about your business or product and has never come in contact with your marketing campaigns or website. Warm audience is the audience that knows your business exists and has a little bit of information about your products/services. Hot audience is the audience segment that not only knows about your business and products but also has shown interest in your offerings. Existing customers also count in the hot market segment.
It is easiest to sell your products to the hot audience while it is hardest to sell to the cold audience. Obviously, if you don’t know about a product you will not show any interest in buying it. That’s why businesses focus heavily on remarketing strategies.
